Vice President of Research Discovery Inc.
Don Micallef is the vice president of research
for cable networks Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and
Destination America. In this role, Micallef develops and directs all network
research efforts, utilizing primary research, Nielsen ratings data, and other
consumer databases to develop programming, scheduling, and marketing strategies
in collaboration with other members of the senior management team. Previously,
Micallef was the VP of programming for digital media, where he aligned long and
short form programming plans between Discovery’s U.S. networks and the digital
media team’s platforms. Micallef also acted as senior director of research and
planning for Discovery Channel, where he managed all primary and secondary
research and analysis. Micallef’s experience in cable extends far beyond
Discovery, with previous work at Lifetime Television (executive director of
programming and new media) and Verizon Entertainment (director of scheduling,
planning and acquisition). Micallef also has extensive experience in
syndication, having acted as VP of program development for Aaron Spelling
Entertainment and VP of research and development for Universal Studios.
